Old vintage tribal runner woven to an astounding length:
Exact size is 18 ft. 6 in. !! by 3 ft. 9 in. Very hard to find old village rugs with this sort of dimensions.
Overall condition is very good with minor scattered wear on the wool pile. Moderate curve near one end so not perfectly rectangular, which could be a concern in a narrow hallway.
Very solid and can be used in a high foot traffic area. Fringes and side cords are in excellent shape.
The carpet was handwoven in the Hamadan district, a constellation of villages in central Iran that produces many of the finest tribal and geometric rugs in the world.
Strong tribal abrash (variegation in color due to changes in wool dye batches). Abrash is a feature of village and tribal rugs chosen by weavers to create a painterly effect.
Dark field with reds at both ends and mottled purples, tans and blues. Bright blue accent colors.
Last photo shows the back of the rug.
Natural wool pile on cotton warp. 1950s. It is quite a heavy rug.
Shipping will be $43 in continental U.S.
