    Description

    Vintage full pile Persian Malayer carpet with subtle colors including olive green. The design is a traditional Herati motif on a dark field with stylized flowers in the border.

    Mainly a rose and olive color palette with a few accents of blue and turquoise here and there.

    Condition is excellent with very little signs of wear on the wool pile. The wool is thick and plush, side cords and fringes are in very good shape.

    Natural wool on natural cotton. 1960s.

    Exact size is 9 ft. 4 in. by 3 ft. 10 in. Last photo with Morgan silver dollar shows the backside of the carpet.

    Malayer region rugs demonstrate good variety and quality, and are highly regarded by collectors. Malayer (also Malayir) is south of Hamadan and west of the Arak Sarouk rug crafting area in Iran.
