Eye dazzling tribal rug from the Shiraz region of Southwest Iran.
Traditional geometric rug with an eye-catching design similar to some Navajo carpets. Persian weavers have been crafting these designs for centuries — perhaps even thousands of years.
Good overall condition with some minor wear on the wool pile. The rug is out of square on one end, which is fairly common in old village rugs — especially those woven from 100% wool. (Wool contracts and expands more than cotton over the decades.) No holes or weakened areas.
Natural wool pile from locally raised sheep. The carpet is entirely woven from wool, including warp and weft.
Photo with Morgan silver dollar displays the back of the rug.
The exact size is 7 ft. by 5 ft. 1960s.
Shipping is just $23 within the continental U.S.
