Stunning Kazak Rug — Green, Magenta & Blue — 8 ft. 9 in. by 6 ft. 3 in. $749

Mesmerizing old vintage rug with blue and mint medallions on a red magenta field.

Possibly too bold for some–but the colors are really electrifying if you want to enliven a living space. Colors approach a psychedelic intensity.

Very good condition with even minor wear to the pile. Pile was clipped short by the weaver to show off the triple medallion Kazak motif and prominent floral borders. 100% natural wool. 1960s. Most likely from Karabakh (also Karabagh) region or Soviet Dagestan. Or possibly eastern Anatolia.

This is a rug that would make a statement in any room although not a perfect match for a paisley sofa and floral wallpaper. And not for the faint of heart. Exact size is 8 ft. 9 in. by 6 ft. 3 in.

Price is $749. Shipping is $43 or free pickup is a possible option.

Vivid geometric tribal rug with red, blue, green, ivory, orange and black in a dazzling array around triple medallions. Expansive size at 12 ft. 7 in. by 5 ft. 3 in. — and 100 % natural wool. North Persian Kurdish or possibly Azerbaijan. Side cord is more like a Heriz or Sarab but the rug is all wool, and generally weavers use cotton for the warp in those areas. 1960s.

Some light wear and color abrash (variegation in color due to different dye batches). Faint fugitive dye in parts of the fringe. Fairly heavy rug but a softer weave so might not be perfect for a high foot traffic area. A simple mesh pad would help to hold it in place on slippery wood or tile floors. Fantastic village rug — out of my personal collection. Mind altering art for your floor!

Price is $695.     Shipping is $49 with free pickup an option.

Now for something a little different, comrades.

Perfect for your office wall. Let your boss know that too much abuse & criticism may have serious consequences….

Handmade Soviet era LENIN rug. Created by tribal Kirghiz or Kazakh weavers in Kazakhstan. Most likely made in late 1960s to honor the centennial of Lenin’s birth — which was 1970.

Lenin was born as Vladimir Illyich Ulyanov in the city of Simbirsk on the Volga River. As the primary architect of the Bolshevik Revolution, he became the ‘founding father’ of the Soviet Union. He lived from 1870 to 1924, the dates deftly woven into this ebullient memorial rug.

Lenin rugs are rare and collectible, and most are machine made. This is handmade natural wool on natural cotton warp. The caption reads V.I. Lenin. (In Cyrillic Russian.) Very good overall condition with minor wear. Size is 5 ft. 2 in. by 4 ft. 6 in. with fairly thick wool pile.

Bright bold colors–including revolutionary red– with elegant borders. Great opportunity to acquire a fascinating and unique historical rug woven in the Soviet Union. This rug would certainly work on the floor but would also make a superb wall hanging.

Price is $425. Shipping is $42 within continental U.S.
