Wonderful old Kazak style medallion rug originating in the North Caucasus of the Soviet Union, Dagestan or Chechnya.
Condition is very good with even pile wear across the rug. Side cords are in excellent shape and a bit of wear on the cotton fringes. Despite some wear, the carpet is solid and there are no holes or weakened areas.
The carpet has been professionally washed!
Great dyes, including greens, yellow ivory, and a reddish brown. During the wash the dyes showed no tendency to run — so an easy rug to clean and the dyes may be all natural.
Pile has been kept short to highlight the design.
Very solid and well crafted rug woven in the Soviet Union in an area that remains part of the Russian Federation today.
Exact size is 6 ft. 2 in. by 4 ft. 1950s. Wool on cotton warp and weft.
Shipping is $34 within continental U.S.
