Elegant handwoven ‘Art Deco’ Chinese Rug in exquisite condition.
No signs of wear anywhere and the fringes and side cords are in great condition. (Fringes look a little uplifted in the photos because the carpet has been rolled up.)
Amazing Chinese floral motif presented on a very dark indigo blue field.
Very thick wool woven onto cotton warp and weft. If you are looking for a thick plush rug in pristine condition, this is a perfect choice.
Although possibly inspired by antique Nichols rugs of the 1920s-1930s, this one was woven recently in the 1980s or later.
This would be an ideal rug for someone who appreciates the Art Deco aesthetics of the Walter Nichols carpets but wants something in mint condition.
Exact size is 10 ft. 5 in. by 8 ft. 2 in. Very heavy for its size — like the Rock of Gibraltar.
