Heriz Herati Rug from Isparta — 10 ft. 7 in. by 6 ft. 8 in.

    $649.00

    Vivacious Turkish Heriz Carpet.

    Out of stock

    Description

Very unusual handmade rug! The motif is a Persian Heriz Herati design but the carpet was actually woven in the Isparta region of Turkey.

The lovely color palette is quite distinct from the Persian examples, featuring dark greens and purples, for instance, not found on the rugs woven in Iran.

The quality of the weaving is actually higher than the majority originating in Persia.

Overall condition is excellent with only minimal signs of wear. Fringe and side cords are in great shape (fringes are being blown about by the wind in the photos so look a little askew).

Professionally washed by Artisan Fine Rug Care in Santa Cruz just two weeks ago! (The price of washing an oriental rug runs typically $4 to $4.50 per square foot. A rug this size costs around $300 for a professional washing.)

Natural wool on natural cotton warp.

Exact size is 10 ft. 7 in. by 6 ft. 8 in. This carpet can be used in a high foot traffic area of the home.

    Spectacular art for your floor!

This is a traditional Herat (Herati) motif without a central medallion. It originated in Persian Herat (now part of Afghanistan) and is highly influential across the carpet producing regions of the Middle East.

Shipping is $55 within the continental U.S.
