Extraordinary large handmade brick red, gold, black and green carpet finely woven in a soumak and rug hybrid technique. The soumak weave technique employs weft face wrapping on the warp threads.
Very unusual to combine pile rug heft and weight with a soumak weave.
The carpet is in pristine condition. (The fold lines are just from being rolled up — the carpet will flatten perfectly once it is unrolled and walked on.)
Fringes and side-cords are in perfect condition. Finely woven.
Enchanting handwoven rug from Pakistan.
Wool woven onto cotton warp and weft. The rug is solid and can be placed in an area of high foot traffic.
Exact size is 14 ft. by 10 ft.
