Fantastic antique Anatolian Kurdish kelim in great condition.
Turkish Kelim dates from late 1940s – 1950s from eastern Anatolia around Lake Van. The kilim was purchased in 1965 by an American peace corp member active in the Kurdish regions of eastern Turkey. It had been used in a household when he purchased it from a Kurdish family.
Signing in one corner is unclear …. Seems to read … ‘February water…’
Natural wool woven into traditional kilim. Crafted in a village home by Kurdish weavers in Eastern Turkey.
Few signs of wear. A couple small areas of dye drift in one corner (shown in photos).
A traditional tribal medallion design!
From from 100% natural wool.
Exact size is 15 ft. 8 in. by 7 ft.
