Sarouk carpets derive their name from an obscure Persian village located near Arak (formerly Sultanabad). Over a lengthy span this village has produced some of the most highly regarded Persian weavings of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Similar carpets are also woven in Mahallat and are known as Mahal rugs. Sarouk rugs are some of the most esteemed and popular of all the classic floral Persian rugs. They display elegant style, radiant colors, and durability.

Carpets woven in this region typically feature curvilinear vines and opulent arabesque bouquets of flowers. This general floral style, closely identified with centuries of Persian carpets, is known as the Shah Abbas motif — as this design reached its zenith during his reign (1588 to 1629).

Shipping will be $69 within the continental U.S.
