Vibrant village rug from northwest Iran near the border with Azerbaijan. These rugs are related to the Heriz rugs from the same region but are distinctive in their use of colors, hooked medallions, and geometric motifs.
Very good condition with little signs of wear. Some minor wear on the ends, and just a little color pickup in the ivory medallion, hardly noticeable. No holes, weak spots, odors, stains, etc.
Wool woven onto cotton warp. Exact size is 6 ft. 10 in. by 4 ft. 10 in. Very solid and well crafted rug that could be placed in a high foot traffic area.
Gorgeous rug with rich colors. Mind bending art for your floor!
(There are multiple spellings for the village of Gharajeh. The quality, color and design of these stunning rugs is more consistent than the spellings in the English and German literature describing them.)
