Fantastic vintage handwoven Persian pictorial rug from Iran. Woven in a garden box style with repeating mountain goats and geometric icons.
Several of the iconic goats show more details — perhaps these are the boys in the herd or perhaps this indicates females with udders.
Color is variegated red with some area of burgundy. Also some greens, blue, black and white.
The rug was woven most likely by Baluchi weavers in the Khorasan region of Northeast Iran.
Condition is excellent with very light signs of wear.
Last photo, with Morgan silver dollar, shows the backside of the rug.
100% natural wool and cotton. The carpet can be used in a high foot traffic area.
Exact size is 8 ft. 6 in. by 5 ft. 10 in. 1970s.
Shipping will be $43 within the continental U.S.
