Charming old Persian tribal Luri or Bakhtiari rug with an amazing bird motif — showcasing birds of all sizes and colors.
The rug was woven in Western Iran. The two tribal groups, Luri and Bakhtiari, share a linguistic and cultural association as many speak Luri.
Scattered wear and some notable areas of dye diffusion from a village wash. The rug has some visible flaws.
Despite these cosmetic issues, this is wonderful old vintage carpet that can handle a high foot traffic area of the home. It could be placed near an entrance, for example, without worry.
Natural wool woven onto cotton warp and weft.
Exact size is 7 ft. 5 in. by 4 ft. 3 in. 1950s – 1960s.
Last photo with silver dollar shows the backside of the carpet.
Shipping will be $34 within the continental U.S. Or free pickup in Tucson, Arizona.
