Charming gabbeh style handwoven rug displaying a large confident lion.
Mint condition and most likely never used. Extremely clean.
Inspired by Persian tribal rugs, this carpet was handwoven in India.
Woven from 100% natural wool and cotton.
The true colors show most accurately in the closeup photos. The field color is cream and the lion has a golden cast.
This would be great in a child’s bedroom but obviously quite charming anywhere in the home.
Exact size is 6 ft. 2 in. by 4 ft.
Gabbeh rugs were woven by the Qashqai and related Persian tribal groups for local use. They generally have simplified field designs and basic color palettes, and were often used as sleeping rugs.
Gabbeh rugs are now one of the most popular and widely copied of all the Persian tribal rug motifs.
