    Description

Classic vintage geometric village runner from the Sarab region in Northwest Iran. This borders Azerbaijan and the Shirvan carpet production region.

This is a traditional Sarabi motif and the weaver has created a durable work of art while maintaining traditional standards.

Perfect for someone who needs an attractive runner that is both rugged and beautiful.

Sarabi rugs are similar to Meshkin runners although they typically use different field colors with Meshkin rugs opting for reds and dark blues versus tans for the Sarabi.

This runner is dense and heavy — ideal for high foot traffic areas in a hall or near an entrance.

Excellent overall condition with minor wear from normal use.

Last photo with silver dollar shows the backside.

Sarab rugs are extremely well made and very durable. Exact size is 10 ft. 9 in. by 3 ft. 8 in. Very heavy for its size.

Wool woven onto cotton warp. 1960s.

This is a traditional design going back well into the 19th century and earlier. The tan brown primary field areas are usually un-dyed wool, typically camel wool.
