Old vintage geometric runner featuring tribal medallions on an ivory field. Small bird icons decorate areas of the rug.
The carpet is similar in its motif to Sarab runners (Northwest Iran), but was probably handwoven farther south in the Hamadan district, a constellation of villages in central Iran that produces many of the finest tribal and geometric rugs in the world.
Condition is very good with light wear on the wool pile. The fringes and side cords are in excellent shape.
Last photo shows the back of the rug.
