Konya is located in central Turkey and is a major tourist destination. Konya was the historical capital of the Sultanate of Rum, which is known in Turkish as Anadolu Selçukluları. Much of the astounding architectural heritage, still visible today, represents that history. The famous Iranian poet and Sufi thinker Rumi settled in the city during this period.

This area in Anatolia produces a high quality wool with a silky feel. The rich lanolin in the wool is what makes the rug feel as if it was woven from silk. 100% natural wool.

Konya rugs admired for their magnificent color, lustrous wool, and bold tribal drawing. Konya carpets often have stepped geometric medallions, which are called Memling Guls.
