    Description

Fantastic thick pile handwoven gabbeh rug with a triple medallion, intricate Caucasian star border, and iconic mountain goats.

Designed with traditional tribal rug motifs but using a more contemporary earth tone color palette. Colors include a light brown or tan, rust red, and olive green.

Gabbeh rugs are tribal style carpets with open uncluttered fields and minimalist designs. They often work better with midcentury and modern or contemporary styles and decor.

Woven from 100% natural wool with natural dyes. Excellent condition.

Woven in Eastern Europe by hand in one of the former Turkish Ottoman regions — Bulgaria, Moldova or Romania. Parts of this area were known historically as Bessarabia. The region has an illustrious tradition of weaving rugs and kelims, largely influenced by Caucasian and Anatolian weaving.

Very heavy & solid rug that will easy handle traffic in a foyer or near a busy doorway. The pile is cut thick.

This rug could work well in a range of decors, including modern, Midcentury Modern, and Southwestern. The rug is similar to some Navajo textiles but much thicker and heavier.

Exact size is 6 ft. 6 in. by 4 ft. 6 in.

Shipping will be $43 within the continental U.S.
