Even wear from decades of use but carpet is rugged and has many years of life left in it.
Pastel and subdued colors! Crosses, arrows and medallions — with classic Lenkoran motif.
True of work of art from a village. 1940s – 1950s
Overall condition is very good. Can be used in a high foot traffic area of the home.
Natural wool pile; cotton warp and weft.
Exact size is 12 ft. 7 in. by 3 ft. 10 in.
Classic Lenkoran Caucasian motif runner in excellent condition for the age.
Lenkoran is located on the Caspian on the southeast corner of Azerbaijan. The Lenkoran rug characteristically has a series of “tortoise” figures, represented as repeating medallions down the center of the carpet. The ground or field color is often dark.
