Vibrant tribal rug from the Zagros Mountains of Southwest Iran.
Traditional geometric rug with brick red, blue, orange, gold, rose and cream as the dominate colors.
The carpet displays dramatic tribal abrash (variegation in colors due to changes in the wool dye batch) — especially in the reds. This technique creates a painterly effect, discarding monochromatic coloring.
Very good overall condition with some minor wear on the wool pile. The rug can be used in a high foot traffic area of the home.
Thick soft natural wool pile. No holes or weakened areas.
The strong dramatic colors are a hallmark of tribal rugs from Southwest Iran.
Woven from 100% natural wool — including the warp and weft.
Photo with Morgan silver dollar displays the back of the rug.
