Stunning tribal rug from the Zagros Mountains of southwest Iran. Fantastic geometric design with many intricate details. Traditional Qashqai medallions with tree of life motifs and multiple icons. Ivory, crimson, green, and black are the primary colors.

Four corner medallions surrounding a central ivory medallion on a crimson field. 100% natural wool. 1950s. Out of my personal collection.

Very good condition with only minimal signs of wear. A vibrant and powerful piece of tribal art work! Reasonably heavy and solid for its size so it can handle high foot traffic. Fantastic statement piece– dynamic art for your floor!

The Qashqai are a confederation of 5 distinct tribal groups who banded together in a political alliance in the 19th century. Another confederation — the Khamseh (which means 5 in Arabic) — formed in the 19th century as a counterbalance to the Qashqai. The rugs of these tribes are quite similar in many respects.

The size is 9 ft. by 5 ft. 5 in.

SOLD — Huge Handmade Tibetan Rug 13 ft. by 10 ft. — $795

Huge handmade Tibetan rug. Thick wool on cotton. Original retail price tag still attached — $7500.

Exact size is 13 ft. 2 in. by 10 ft. Photo with coin is the back of the rug. The wrinkles are only from the rug being rolled up after washing and will come out easily once the rug is spread out on a floor and walked on.

Very heavy and thick. Rug weighs over a 100 pounds. Neutral colors. Natural wool (sheep – yak) woven onto natural cotton. No wear. This is a rug that can handle heavy foot traffic and last for many decades. No synthetic materials, no outgassing such as happens with manufactured carpeting. Perfect for children and infants.

The rug was in storage for a number of years and needed the dust washed out. It was professionally hand-washed by Artisan Fine Rug Care in Santa Cruz.

The price is $795.

Free local pickup in the Bay Area or Monterey area. I have a storage unit near the Oakland airport where it would be easy to view and pickup the rug.

I can ship it but weighs over a hundred pounds so probably around $125 to ship. I will have to add shipping costs depending on your location if you need it shipped.

Highly detailed and finely woven vintage Kayseri rug from Anatolia. Excellent condition. Although not heavy, it is well crafted and could be used in a high foot traffic area. A simple non slip mesh pad might be needed on slippery wood or tile floors.

The rug is ready for many additional decades of use. Natural wool on cotton warp. This carpet was just professionally washed and is ready for your home. Fantastic subtle dyes and colors. Traditional prayer rug motif with mosque mihrab and Ottoman style lamp, enclosed by a sinuous arabesque design.

With its elegant motif and muted colors, it would complement a range of styles from traditional and modern, to mid-century modern, Art Deco and Art Nouveau. Exact size is 6 ft. 6 in. by 4 ft. — and that includes the longish fringe.

Kayseri is widely heralded for producing many of the finest handmade rugs in Anatolia and the world. 1960s.
