Lovely old Persian Lilihan rug. These are village rugs usually displaying a medallion and floral motif.
Similar to Sarouk and Mahal rugs but less common. Traditionally these were woven in the Armenian villages near Hamadan, Iran.
Intricate and charming rendition of the classic floral form.
The wool pile is thick. Condition is excellent. The side cords have been re-wrapped – renewed, which is a major plus as they wear out over time on most antique rugs. One small repair on the new side cords.
Very little signs of wear on the natural wool pile. Fringes are excellent.
Woven from natural wool with cotton warp.
Solid rug that can be used in a high foot traffic area of the home.
Exact size is 8 ft. by 5 ft. 3 in.
