Rare old Turkoman tribal carpet from a German estate! Very unusual motif that is far less common than the Bukhara motif.
Wonderful patina and character. Gold, rose red, light yellow, mauve and black colors!
Fabulous repeating medallions. Woven by the tribal Turkoman. Beshir or Ersari weavers.
Minor even pile wear. No holes or tears.
Excellent condition for the age. Thick and solid wool pile. 1950s
All natural wool — including the warp! Normal for Baluch and Turkoman rugs to use 100% wool.
Exact size is 9 ft. by 6 ft. 7 in.
Turkmen tribes include Ersari, Tekke, Salir or Salor, Yomut.
