Multicolor handmade gabbeh rug with small animal icons.
Condition is mint and the rug appears unused. Plush and soft natural wool pile.
Aside from the lovely colors including greens, red, brown and gold, there is wonderfully subtle abrash. (Abrash is variegation in the wool dye batchs allowing the weaver to create a painterly effect. It is more appealing, generally, than solid dull colors.)
Side cords are in superb shape. The fringes have also been protected by enfolding them in a woven side cord that runs across both ends. If you find fringes annoying, this carpet would be great option.
Gabbeh rugs are tribal style carpets with open uncluttered fields and minimalist designs. They complement Southwestern, midcentury, modern and contemporary styles and decor.
